Where are you based?

We are so lucky to call Canmore, AB our home! The perfect base for adventure seekers like us. We primarily shoot in the Canadian Rockies but are 100% always up for travel.

How far in advance should we book?

Because our travel schedule is constantly evolving, we generally don't book weddings and elopements more than 18 months out (with the exception of international destination weddings). We typically book Alberta and BC elopements and weddings anywhere from 6-18 months out. We like to leave room in our schedule for last-minute elopements too, so even if you're planning to elope in the next few weeks, definitely reach out! We might have a space just for you. (Note that due to Covid backlog we are experiencing clients booking earlier and earlier to ensure they get their desired date.)

How does payment work?

Once you’ve decided on a package, a 50% deposit will be due along with a signed contract. This locks down your date in our calendar. The other 50% will be due by your wedding day. Once the deposit is paid, the deposit is non-refundable. All payments are made by e-transfer to our email address: yourblackandwhite@gmail.com or alternatively by PayPal.

Do I have to pay extra for printing rights?

Nope! Once your photos are delivered to you, they’re yours to download, share, and print. However, if you're planning on sharing them on your social media, we kindly ask that you remember to credit Black & White as your photographers/cinematographers if you can!

Can we have the RAW photo and/or video files?

Unfortunately, we have to say no. When booking with us, we hope part of the reason is for our unique editing style. A major part of what we do is edit and cull through thousands of images, selecting the best and most usable images for your gallery. Once the process is complete we edit and retouch each photo individually. If we were to lose our creative control, it could potentially jeopardize our reputation as creatives and as a business.

Video: Due to the size of our video files and settings on our cinema camera, these files would be unusable for anyone who isn’t a cinematographer. However, if there are any moments you would like in addition to your highlight film, we offer full-length and coloured footage as an add-on in to our packages.

What happens if you can’t make it to our wedding?

To date, we’ve never had to cancel on a client. If something were to happen out of our control… (act of God, illness, death, etc), then we would assist in helping you find another photographer that shares a similar style to us, and your money will be refunded.

Do you ever shoot real film?

We do! We love the timeless effect film gives. Check out our photo packages in our investment page for more details.
